Harry Potter Book Buddy Bookend Set Samples

In one of his previous jobs, our Creative Director was the lead visual artist for developing Harry Potter related products, among many, many other licensed lines. He would love to save everything, but a studio space is only so big! So, it’s time to let some rare first samples go…

Before the HP films were released, Warner Brothers owned the license for HP related products. That’s why all these designs look a bit different from the film related products. These items were designed and created around the year 2000/2001, so they’re already nearly 25 years old! And we only have one set of each design…

These products are set during the very first HP book- the Philosopher’s Stone. These book ends feature Hermoine and Harry Potter himself. Harry is depicted jumping through the black flames that are one of the obstacles guarding the Philosopher’s Stone. Hermione’s bookend depicts the potions, which involves identifying a bottle that contains a potion to move forward and one that contains a potion to move backward. Hermione's cleverness allows her to use logic, and the clues provided in the riddle to correctly identify the correct bottles.
