Aurora Original Customizing Monster Kit

The model making monster craze was so big in the 1960’s that Aurora created a “customizing” kit to add more rats, spiders, bones and more to your monster scenes. Offered here is an original customizing monster kit. It appears to contain all of the original parts. They are all unpainted but removed from the sprues. Set has the original double page instruction sheet in very good condition which has lots of lurid early 60’s monster art on it. ALSO, an original coupon, in like new condition, for a free issue of Famous Monsters magazine is included in this group. The original box, marked ©1963, has bright colors, with touches of shelf wear at the corners. There is a dent to the upper left side of the box and the top is also creased inwards in the upper left. The upper left corner of the box lid is also split. Overall, the colors are bright on the box art and will display well, even with the condition issues. The box bottom is dented and creased inwards. The painting on the box top is really amazing and the kit will make a nice addition to any classic monster collection.

Where did we get these items? Our in-house artist & Creative Director is a pack rat and has been collecting all kinds of items that caught his eye for the last 40 plus years. He’s collected so much that he wants to thin out his herd and he’s doing so through the Retro-a-go-go! Studio store.
