We all Have Magic to Share

Posted by

So proud that Retroagogo! and the team of terrific folks that come to work everyday, were honored at the Capital Building in Lansing last Wednesday. Supporting Genesis House is just the natural thing to do and it feels right, not only for business, but right for the heart.

What is Genesis House anyway? They’re a terrific non-for-profit organization that helps to place good folks that have various mental disabilities with employment opportunities. Just think of this, I own Retro-a-go-go!, run the place, and I have OCD. Yep that’s right! Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Sure, I am in recovery and my disability is much better managed now, but from time to time, my brain’s chemical imbalance wants to get in the way. But nothing is going to stop me; I am the driver of my life and not my illness.

Like the Genesis House philosophy, Retro-a-go-go! focuses on what we can do, instead of what we can’t do. Our Genesis House friends add to the special Retro-a-go-go! creative blend, by proudly helping with our product assembly, inventory management, and so much more.

We are all more than any label given to us, or a box that we can check at the doctor’s office, that indicates what we have or who we are. Just because you may have an obstacle before you (who doesn’t?!), you can still contribute your gifts and participate in all sorts of things that life has to offer.

Retroagogo! products ignite excitement and bring about those fun feelings you enjoyed when you were a kid. Making people happy, now that is the best job in the world.
